Continuing a Legacy of Love and Community
Betty Fitzgerald, born in Winchester, Kentucky, in 1926, moved to Atlanta in 1948 after graduating from Duke University. Davis Fitzgerald, born in Atlanta in 1922, graduated from Georgia Tech and served in the Navy.
After returning to Atlanta, Davis joined Trust Company of Georgia and married Betty in 1950. They lived in Atlanta for 55 years, with Davis continuing at the bank, now Truist.
Kind, humorous, and thrifty, Betty and Davis cared deeply for Atlanta. Their legacy lives on through the Fitzgerald Foundation, a lasting commitment to their community.
