Brittany Collins

Executive Director

Brittany Collins is an executive leader in philanthropy and social impact with nearly 20 years of experience in place-based investment, policy reform, and complex governance, driving the kind of systems change that expands opportunity for families across Georgia and the American South.

As Executive Director of the Betty and Davis Fitzgerald Foundation, Brittany oversees the Foundation's governance, investments, and strategy to expand access to education and mental health services across Georgia. Under her leadership, the Foundation completed a comprehensive governance redesign and restructured how it deploys its resources to strengthen both long-term sustainability and its ability to respond nimbly to community needs. She is known for equity-centered grantmaking and building deep, trust-based partnerships with community organizations and philanthropic peers.

As the initiative's backbone leader, she convened more than 60 multi-sector partners to drive policy and practice change, culminating in a landmark $20 million public-private investment to increase access and early learning outcomes. She has also held executive leadership roles at Purpose Built Communities and in education and youth-serving nonprofit organizations.

Beyond her foundation work, Brittany serves on several national and regional nonprofit boards and advises local, regional, and national collaboratives on multi-sector partnership and philanthropic strategy. She is a sought-after thought partner among institutions working at the intersection of place-based investment and systems change, designing initiatives with the potential for broader impact and replication.

Her leadership has been recognized with honors including the Atlanta Business Chronicle 40 Under 40, Georgia Trend's 40 Under 40, and the Outstanding Atlantan Award (2021). She is an alumna of Leadership Georgia (Class of 2025) and a 2025 IWF Leadership Fellow. Reflecting on 2025.
Moving With Intention.

2025 tested the resilience of organizations working at the intersection of education, mental health, and equity. In response, the Betty and Davis Fitzgerald Foundation listened closely, acted with intention, and clarified how we will continue to partner in a changing landscape—sharing lessons learned and sharpening our focus on strengthening education and mental health systems.

This letter reflects on that journey and outlines our path forward.
