Executive Director

Brittany is a trusted strategic advisor in philanthropy and social impact, with nearly 20 years of experience driving systems change through community development, place-based investments, and education policy and practice. As Executive Director of the Betty and Davis Fitzgerald Foundation, she oversees the Foundation’s governance, investments, and strategy to expanding access to education and mental health services for families and communities across Georgia. Under her leadership, the Foundation has broadened its reach across the American South, strengthening partnerships, fostering collaboration, and elevating conversations on long-term, community-driven solutions.

Before joining the Foundation, Brittany led transformative initiatives in early childhood education policy and practice. As Founding Director of PAACT (Promising All Atlanta Children Thrive) at GEEARS, she convened public and private stakeholders to drive investment and improve early childhood outcomes—culminating in a landmark $20 million investment in partnership with Atlanta Mayor Dickens’ administration and Atlanta Public Schools. Her career includes leadership roles at Purpose Built Communities and nonprofit management positions in education organizations, reflecting a lifelong commitment to equity, impact, and innovation.

An active leader in Georgia’s philanthropic and civic communities, Brittany provides leadership to local, regional, and national philanthropic collaboratives and issue-area committees focused on advancing best practices in equity-centered grantmaking, policy, and funder partnerships. She also serves on several nonprofit boards, contributing her expertise to strengthen organizational impact and sustainability.

Her leadership has been recognized with honors such as Georgia Trend’s 40 Under 40 and the Outstanding Atlantan Award (2021). She is a current member of Leadership Georgia (Class of 2025) and a 2025 IWF Leadership Fellow. Additionally, she is a Rockwood Equity in Philanthropy Fellow (2024) and a graduate of the Regional Leadership Institute (Class of 2022), Leadership Buckhead (Class of 2023), and REALITY Impact (2023).

Driven by a deep belief in equity and opportunity, Brittany is committed to building systems that create access to resources and pathways for all individuals—regardless of socioeconomic background—to thrive. She holds a B.A. from Spelman College and a Master of Education from Georgia State University. Based in Atlanta, she enjoys international travel, mystery novels, and Pilates, balancing her professional commitments with family life alongside her husband and three children.

As the Grantmaking and Operations Associate of the Fitzgerald Foundation, Angela works closely with the Executive Director to administer the grantmaking process, support the Foundation’s nonprofit partners, and help manage operations.

Grantmaking and Operations Associate

Angela Maselli Ballantyne is a seasoned nonprofit professional with deep experience in the Atlanta philanthropic community. Working in and alongside Atlanta’s nonprofit sector for more than 15 years, she is passionate about partnering with organizations to create a healthier and more equitable community.

As the Grantmaking and Operations Associate of the Betty and Davis Fitzgerald Foundation, she works closely with the Executive Director to administer the grantmaking process, support the Foundation’s nonprofit partners, and help manage the day-to-day operations of the Foundation. In this role, Angela is committed to expanding access to education and mental health services for families and communities throughout Metro Atlanta.

Before joining the Foundation, Angela served as a nonprofit consultant providing strategic guidance and fundraising support for a diverse set of clients. Angela has extensive experience working in development positions with Atlanta Ballet and Georgia Aquarium, and farther afield at Houston Ballet. In these roles, Angela was responsible for executing comprehensive annual giving programs, directing capital campaigns, managing individual prospect portfolios, developing communication and solicitation strategies, overseeing donor stewardship events and programs, coordinating the work of development staff and volunteer fundraisers, and analyzing donor data and giving trends.

A graduate of Columbia College and the Savannah College of Art and Design with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in arts administration, Angela is also a 2017 graduate of LEAD Atlanta and a 2019 graduate of Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards and continues to volunteer with several local nonprofits. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, and exploring Atlanta’s arts scene with her twin girls, Margaret and Isabelle.
